Due to some restructuring and admin stuff, training is withhold until school reopens.

There will be two competitions now open for registration. Please email your name to SPFC if you are interested in participating before the deadline. Late entries will not be entertained.

Novices Championships

Hello fencers

There will be a Novices Championship fencing competition on the 30th-31th JAN and 2010. It is a competition for beginners to try and compete against each other without and unfairness-no pros. If you are interested please send me your full name NIRC which weapon to SPFC 6th Febemail by 24th -23.59 latest. It will be hosted at clementi sports complex. Currently there is only one team - sabre. Mat WJ Sean Calvin. Please post on the blog for any questions.

SP Open House/Showcase

All those that have been requested to help for the upcoming SP Open House/Showcase please arrive on time on both days, 12pm @ fc5.

Details

Station 1: Glove games for reaction

Participant will be taught the en garde position while facing the fencer.

Fencer will drop fencing glove from his/her hands.

Participant will try to catch the glove while in the en garde position.

A token will be given upon catching 5 times in a straight row.

Station 2: Balloon game for point control

Balloons will be pinned onto the archery board

Participant in the en garde position will try to burst the balloon using with one of the three weapons.

A token will be given upon bursting the balloon.

Station 2: Modified dual game

Participant will be taught some simple fencing movements to move forward and backwards.

They can free fence one another using toy swords.

Training, Camp Details & Exco Meeting

All fencers take note, training on the 24th has been cancelled. The camp which was scheduled for 26th dec has also been cancelled due to insufficient takeup. Those who paid me the fees for the camp can claim back from me during the next training session which will be confirmed again at a later date.

There is a proposition for 2 meetings namely on the 28th Dec (Monday) and 30th Dec (Wednesday), most likely over lunch either at seoul garden or nihon-mura, both are buffet style. This is in preparation for SP's Open House, CCA Exhibit.

The people whose name being mentioned below, please contact samuel for suggesstion of meeting place if you have any other suggesstion or if u cannot make it, we will need to reschedule on a date where everyone can make it for the meeting. Let me repeat that this meeting is a must to attend(unless otherwise stated), and preferbly way ahead of the open house in JAN on the 6th.

Holiday Training

There will be training this Wednesday 16 Dec. Nazri - 8203 3991 - will be in school 12pm to train you guys, mainly in sabre. . For other weapons you are also welcomed to join him in foot work, and free fence with other members.

Normal holiday training will commence on 24th Dec(details will be updated soon).

All fencers who are participating in HCI Open are encouraged to go for training to prepare for the competition.
